Teahouse uses the Chinese habit of drinking hot water as a starting point for an encounter between cultures. Tea, melon seeds and objects sourced from a Chinese supermarket in Cagliari are brought into a shared setting in Sardinia.
Participants are invited to drink, talk and consider the origins of their own everyday habits. The work connects personal routines with collective experience, using conversation and the Chinese idea of implicit understanding to explore how cultural knowledge travels between languages and places.
